From this - a skirt I haven't worn since three jobs, eight years, and two toddlers ago.
To this: a giveaway! A stylish linen print market tote, fully lined with a blue print cotton, and embellished with some fussy-cut flowers.

I have to post a comment: I made that skirt for you all those eons ago! I loved the fabric then and love it repurposed as a bag. *subliminal message to nephew/niece: Pick Auntie G, Pick Auntie G!!!!*
ReplyDeleteSigh - it did live a useful business life. But now my life is quite different, so it moved into the sewing room awaiting inspiration. Thank you thank you! Your name is the first in the hat :)
ReplyDeletelove the bag! looks great both ways! thanks for the giveaway
ReplyDeleteUh oh, Auntie G - now you only have a 50% chance! Thanks Lorena.
ReplyDeleteWhat's life without a little competition?
ReplyDeleteThat came out great! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIf I were that bag, I'd want to see Australia, occasionally hold a wet swimsuit, go to the Sunday Markets and otherwise, hang with some half-done needle-felting project in me.

Hello, little bag, wouldn't you like to visit the Berkshires?
ReplyDeleteNo, no, little bag. You want to come to a sheep farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Really, you do. Auntie G already has an adorable niece and nephew. Also, Mom, if you would like some wonderful roving to play with for dying, spinning and/or felting, let me know! My sheep are producing fiber as we speak...
ReplyDeleteWe love the bag, but in reality would rather someone else win it so don't put our names in the hat. Auntie G you are so right about your good taste in selecting the fabric in the first place, and Carolyn you have made such wonderful use of it. Yea for green sewing and reuse of all things! Grammy and Gramp
ReplyDeleteCathie, whether you win or not, lets talk!! Would love to come out and see some sheep.
ReplyDeleteJen, are you back in the Berks? What happened to California? Guess I need to consult fb more often.
Gina, miss you - but I hope you'll really be home in a year.
Good luck everyone!
This is my first visit to your blog and I love not only what you have created but how you so creatively display the finished products. The bag is wonderful and even better when I see how it originated and metamorphosized into its current state. It is one thing to be green and another to be stylish-- this bag successfully accomplishes both important criteria in my book. I would definitely welcome this cute travel and errand companion.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam for your kind words! We'll draw the name tonight and let the winner know :)
